Lowest OSHA Incident Rate: TCM Corp of Portland, Oregon wins SMACNA's 2021 Safety Awards in the Over 500,000 hours category.
On February 21, 2020, the annual meetings of SMCI, SMCI Board, Labor Relations Council and Industry Fund was held at the SMCI offices. These meetings are required per bylaws and all members are invited. It is a good time for all members to reconnect with other members and a good networking opportunity not to mention a good time for input on the association and it’s benefits. After the meetings, the winter party was held at Smash Park in West Des Moines. The casual environment allowed a lot of socializing and playing games not to mention eating and drinking. There was a bags tournament with the $400 winners being Dan Lancelotti and Brian McNeeley from Corn States ...
On April 23 rd , SMACNA of Long Island members serving as Trustees or considering serving as Trustees will listen and discuss with SMACNA National Director of Labor Services Joye Blanscett regarding the responsibilities required in serving as a Funds Trustee. Attendees will learn best practices and have the opportunity to ask questions.
SMACNA of Long Island has made a $5000 contribution in support of the 2020 SMACNA College of Fellows Outing. We applaud the COF mission to identify and recognize academically talented youth and potential future leaders within the SMACNA extended family and to provide them an opportunity to further their education and develop their talents as future leaders and positive contributors to society.
On Tuesday, December 10 th the SMACNA Long Island membership celebrated the holiday season together at Tellers.
Last fall SMACNA of Long Island held its first golf outing in several years. An ambitious committee was formed and the outing was a smashing success. After donating $30,000 to the Contractors for Kids organization, golf outing committee members spread holiday joy by giving the remainder of our outing proceeds with smaller donations to the following organizations: Basket Brigade Mercy Center Ministries Island Harvest Habitat for Humanity Suffolk County John Theissen Children Foundation

When a Jeep dealership contacted Todd Berg of Architectural Sheet Metal Systems Inc. (ASMS) of St. Louis, Missouri, Berg was quick to respond. The owner of Lou Fusz Jeep in O’Fallon, Missouri, was looking to install a sleek exterior to enhance the façade of the dealership and Todd knew he could help. After several client meetings, ASMS offered their own solution and fabricated and installed their own ACM (aluminum composite material) and MCM (metal composite material) panels to create a sleek exterior look for the Lou Fusz Jeep dealership.
