Apollo began operations in 1981, building on a vision originating in the mid-1970s by owner Bruce Ratchford. With a decade of experience and expertise in sheet metal, mechanical design and business management, Mr. Ratchford incorporated Apollo Sheet Metal - now Apollo Mechanical Contractors - in Richland, Washington, to serve the Tri-Cities' construction needs.
Since 1981, Apollo has progressively grown larger in its original scope and has also expanded its operations and locations to specialize in hospitals, laboratories, schools, and industrial facilities. The Apollo team provides pre-construction, construction, and design-assist services for commercial, institutional, and industrial clients. Our array of services includes industrial piping and plumbing, complete HVAC mechanical systems, sheet metal fabrication, facility maintenance, energy conservation consulting, and MEP / BIM Coordination. Oregon Division Apollo Sheet Metal opened its Oregon Division based in the Portland metropolitan area in 2006 to establish a full-time presence in the Oregon market.
Through steady, controlled growth led by experienced local managers, the Oregon Division has grown to an annual $25 - $30 million operation in its five short years. Our staff in Portland has a wide range of skills and experience in the complex and challenging industry of mechanical contracting. Apollo Mechanical Contractors Oregon Division has successfully completed major projects in the Healthcare, Hospitality, Education, Central Utility Plants, High-Tech Manufacturing, and Commercial markets.
